Perhaps no other division has felt that impact of the last few
year's events more so than our Communications Division.
The frequency of incoming calls has increased exponentially, and
the stress of the dispatch environment has never been higher.
Our communications division continues to provide emergency
dispatch services twenty-four hours per day, every day,
supplying radio and telephone communications not only for the
Sheriff's Office, but for several communities in the County as
Police dispatch services are still provided for the towns of
Francestown, Greenfield, Greenville-Temple, Hancock, Litchfield,
Peterborough and Temple. We provide Fire Dispatch for
Mason and Greenville, and EMS Dispatch for Mason,
Greenville, New Ipswich and the Souhegan Valley
Regional Ambulance Service. We also continue to provide
dispatch services for the Highway Departments of Greenville, Mason, New
Ipswich and Temple. We also provide dispatch
services for the Manchester Office of the Department of
Probation and Parole. In Addition to providing daily dispatch services our communications personnel stand ready to assist other communication centers in times of emergency, power outages, equipment failures or other situations that might strain the resources of those centers.
Our centralized dispatch provides an
informational hub for the emergency services community of the
County, while revenues from these services are returned to the
County General Fund, reducing the county tax rate.
