Dec.24, 2003
- Christmas came a little early for residents of New
Hampshire. Sheriff James Hardy of the Hillsborough County
Sheriff's Office announces that wanted fugitive Richard Petrain,
age 57, formerly of Manchester, was arrested in Colebrook, NH
late yesterday after an armed standoff with members of the
Colebrook Police Department. Petrain was wanted on
numerous counts of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault, Stalking
and various other offenses. An intense and lengthy
investigation by Hillsborough County Sheriff's detectives in
conjunction with other agencies led to the tracking of Petrain
to Colebrook. Sheriff Hardy advises that his deputies have
returned Petrain to Hillsborough County, where he currently is
being held at the jail without bail pending arraignment.
